I received B.S. in Computer Science and Technology from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) , Hefei, P.R.China in July 2003 and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the National University of Singapore in July 2008. During Nov. 2007 - July 2010, I was a PostDoc at University of Michigan Medical School, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, USA. During August 2010 - March 2015, I was a Associate Professor and Professor at Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China. I joined Huazhong University of Science and Technology as Professor of Bioinformatics in April. 2015, and am a member of the Department of Bioinformatics and Systems Biology, College of Life Science and Technology. I has been engaged in scientific research in the field of bioinformatics for more than 10 years, and currently host the projects of NSFC and National Key R&D Program of China. I have published more than 80 academic papers in PNAS, Gut, Genome Biology, Gut Microbes, Briefings in Bioinformatics, Bioinformatics, Nucleic Acids Research, PLoS Genetics, Plant Cell and other top academic journals in biology, medicine and bioinformatics, including more than 60 SCI papers as the first author or corresponding author, with a total of more than 3000 citations, H index of 30 (Google Scholar).I have obtained 6 software Copyrights and applied for more than 20 national invention patents. I am on the editorial board of International journals including Genomics Proteomics Bioinformatics, Microbiology Spectrum and Scientific Reports. I am a member of computational Biology and Bioinformatics Professional Committee of Chinese Society of Bioengineering . I am also a member of bioinformatics Committee of China Computer Society, biological Big Data Committee of Chinese Society of Genetics, expert member of Translational Medicine Informatics Group of Functional Genomic Informatics and Systems Biology Branch of Chinese Society of Cell Biology, and member of Proteome Young Scholars Committee of China. I am a judge of Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (UK-BBSRC). I teach "biostatistics", "bioinformatics" and other courses. I am the instructor of iGEM Gold Medal team for 6 times.
